Flower of Jesse

"O Flower of Jesse's stem, you have been raised up as a sign for all peoples; kings stand silent in your presence; the nations bow down in worship before you. Come, let nothing keep you from coming to our aid."

Wednesday is never my favorite day of the week. I do too many of my least-favorite chores on Wednesday. But if I get them all done, I get to go to the Barnes and Noble cafe, sip a decaf mocha, and read for a while. Fortunately, Christ's coming doesn't depend on my working hard. I just have to be ready to stand silent in his presence.

today the reminder that "Christ's coming doesn't depend on my working hard" was something that I needed to read today. Something I know in my heart but forget in my busyness.

thanks!

I, too, needed that reminder. My only 2 finals are tomorrow and I've been insanely busy trying to get everything done in time before going back home to Indiana (buying presents and trying to get all my teacher recommendations for my grad school application), and in the midst of all of that I seem to have forgotten to just stand still and spend time with our Lord. As much as I love this time of the year, I also dislike it immensely. It's so easy to get caught up in everything and forget about what's important.

The B&N idea, though, that sounds wonderful. I am envious. Here's hoping you get the chores done in time to be able to go relax!

I just got a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble. They'd better look out.

I always do my laundry on Wednesday.
